Regarding Fashion Weeks, several measures can be taken to enhance sustainability. One solution is to merge seasons and gender-specific shows by holding a single Fashion Week per year instead of two. A second solution is to increase the number of online events in order to reduce travel-related emissions.

Finally, Fashion Weeks can be used to raise awareness about global warming. Fashion weeks offer an excellent opportunity to highlight the environmental impact of fashion. They serve to both encourage fashion brands to adopt ethical standards—as the Fashion Industry Charter does by promoting sector-wide sustainability—and educate the public on climate change issues.
